Answer:
A story I wrote a year ago count is a little over 800 words.
Explanation:
It was a perfect day, long ago in a time forgotten by man and living beast of this age, living on a small island, isolated from the world. On this island was a tribe of men and women who shared the duties of survival. Living in peace for years with little violence, and beautiful children. Sunny days to walk the shore line and play games in the long grass, or sit outside and drink ale, and spirits.
However, on the darkest of days. Clouds covered the island, and mass panic struck out; while it rained fire from the sky. The villagers ran in circles, grabing at the young ones to pull them inside to safety. For they were unsure on how to respond to this unseen threat. As the smoldering smoke swirled, clearing to reveal a ship descending from the heavens. Confused by this, the village chief Etheldreda went to wait for the ship to land. As he stood there brave and true, eyeing the ship with a definitive look upon his face, the ramp of the ship let loose and landed. A man. No taller than he started to walk from the ship. Clad in a navy blue vest, gray tight pants, a leather halter holding his sword inches from the ground, and a flintlock on the other side.
The chief braced himself, looking stern and strong his motive to not show any fear.
“You must be the chief?” The man from the ship said with a half evil grin.
“Yes they call me such.”
“How is it you speak our language?”
“Easy when some such as yourselves have come to me. Yet here I come to you in search of more” The captain told him. The chief was unsure of the man’s motives but feared the worst. “Tell me, stranger. You seek what, here in my homeland?” He asked gesturing behind him to the village.
“I seek only the might of a nation, to keep all at bay for me. More or less I want this land to be mine.” The sleek man said with a smirk. The chief looked toward his tribe and village before speaking.
“You say this yet you shoot fire from the sky killing my people?” The Captain takes a deep breath inhaling the foul smoke of burning wood and flesh.
“Yes old man I do. It's simple really. I keep some of your people alive to make you happy, but kill a good amount to not resist me. I humble my pray before making it subdue to me.” The chief looked around at his village in ruins, “ You seek to rule an unruly bunch. I’ve learned over my lifetime never to try to take things that are not given.” As the chief said this he drew his own sword, at the ready to protect what is rightfully his.
The man at this point grinned a truly fierce wicked smile. As his sword scrapped the sheth. In one stroke which seemed like seconds as time stood still, and in one fluid movement took the chief's head, sending it spiraling toward the feet of a small child. Men and women of the village tried to take the man down only to fall at the end of his sword before he even noticed the small child staring into the eyes of the severed head. He approached the child slowly, blade at the ready to strike him down, yet as he came closer he saw no fear in the child who just stared at him with definece. “Boy? Tell me your name.” he said in the child's language. Not a word came from the child only silence, and that seemed like defiance.
“Child I will not ask your name again or fall like the others of your tribe.” he said, snarling at the child, yet he couldn’t bring himself to strike when the child did not answer. “Fine I shall give you a name when the time comes. Now take my hand and let us be off.” he said smiling extending a hand. The child took his hand seemingly not able to understand the massacre that had occurred.
“Captain! We have done it..” the man's voice trailed off as he saw the child holding the captain’s hand.
“Sir, you realize there is a small child at your side?” The captain waved a dismissive hand, at his crew member.
“Are you an idiot? Yes he is a prize for myself since I can not have children of my own this one shows promise. So I will raise him to be a fine warrior for the kingdom.” he said looking down and smiling at the child. “Now come boy we have work to do, and not as much time to do it in.” With that they boarded the flying ship and were off to a new world for the child.
No one noticed though a small group of the tribe standing on the edge of the village watching the ship disappear behind the glimmering sunlight and clouds.

What are your thoughts about the role of technology in young children?
Answer:
Technology does not play a pleasant role in young children's' lives.
Explanation:
Technology can not only be detrimental for a child's physical health, such as eye muscle strain and the negative effect of blue lights, but also for their mental health and grades. Technology such as phones and computers will pull a child's attention away from their schoolwork and friends, and in extreme cases can cause symptoms of ADHD such as hyperactivity and a short attention span.
Answer: Technology is both a blessing and a curse.
Explanation:
I think technology is good and bad. It can badly ruin eyesight over the long term and most young children nowadays watch television shows and cartoons. However, technology is also helping children become more knowledgeable. Before technology, if you wanted to know about something, you had to look them up in thick, heavy encyclopedias. Now, you can just search something up and you'll get thousands of results in seconds. Hope this helps!

The author uses the gas station attendant's warning to create tension by foreshadowing that ? A. Maggie may have problems on her journey
B. Maggie may not be a good driver.
C. the attendant does not like Maggie's car.
D. the attendant does not think Maggie has enough gas
The gas station attendant's words show that Maggie may encounter problems on her journey. Therefore, option A is her correct answer.
This can be seen because the gas station attendant is skeptical about whether Maggie's car will be able to face the difficult journey she is about to embark on. Though he thinks the car can handle it, he claims that Maggie might run into trouble along the way.
At this moment, the author uses the technique called foreshadowing, which is the literary technique where the author advances information in the story, showing things that will happen later in the narrative. The use of this technique creates tension and suspense because it leaves the reader anxious and thoughtful about what will happen.

Xanthan gum, for instance, a slime fermented by the bacteria Xanthomonas campestris and then dried, is used in bottled salad dressing to slow the settling of the spice particles and keep water and oil from separating. Xanthan and other hydrocolloids are now part of the tool kit of high-end chefs.Read the passage above. What hydrocolloid is often used in bottled salad dressing?a.Oil.Spices.Watered.Xanthan gum
Answer:
The answer is D) Xanthan Gum
Explanation:
Xanthan gum hydrocolloid is often used in bottled salad dressing.
What is a hydrocolloid?A specific type of wound dressing called a hydrocolloid dressing is used to treat lesions that moderately exude, such as bed sores or minor burns. Unlike more basic dressings, these waterproof dressings offer a wet and insulating environment to aid in the healing of wounds.
A gummy-like substance called hydrocolloid is used to treat wounds. It can be found in pimple patches, which are tiny stickers that resemble pimples in size. For bumpier, inflammatory zits or blisters, you might also discover huge hydrocolloid patches. These patches are meant to encourage skin repair.
Hydrocolloids are another option, and they too are packaged in white bottles like chemicals. For example, bottled salad dressing uses Xanthan gum, a slime generated by the bacterium Xanthomonas campestris, and then dried, to delay the settling of the spice particles and prevent the separation of the water and oil.
Therefore, Thus option (D) is correct.
