Hace tres años asistí a una obra de teatro basada en la novela de Sófocles "Edipo Rey," en la cual se narra la historia de un hombre llamado Edipo, al cual su padre Layo, rey de Tebas, abandona en un reino cercano para evitar que se cumpliera una profecía que lo involucraba a él y su núcleo familiar.
Poco se imaginaba Layo que Edipo, separado del vínculo familiar que tendría al haber crecido bajo otro reino, inició un camino que culminó con el cumplimiento total de la profecía que se había hecho, ejecutándose el destino que había sido preparado años atrás para todos.

La obra es una de las más conocidas del dramaturgo Sófocles, la cual fue dramatizada por primera vez en el 429 a. C., en el mayor teatro de la antigua Grecia: El teatro de Dioniso, considerándose como una tragedia ya que las circunstancias del destino en la misma llevan a la desintegración y tergiversación del sentido de familia.
La obra se enfoca mucho en el destino de las personas, haciendo alusión de que, una vez el destino de una persona ha sido plasmado, ninguna acción puede remediarlo, solo quizá retrasarlo, pero nunca cambiarlo.
