Hydrothermal, taped from the biggest river on the state contributes approximately 60% of the energy in the state. Geothermal is second,approximately 30% while wind power contributes approximately 10%.

The costs of the electricity in the state are relatively cheap compared with states whose main source of energy is hydrocarbon fuels. Geothermal power is the cheapest (even though initial investment is prohibitive). The reduced flow of water (and sediments) downstream of the dam also impact these ecosystems. Geothermal and wind energy sources have a very minimal environmental impact on the environment .
