How I interpert this is that we spend so much time analyzing and preparing for big events in our lives that in the end, we end up thinking too much about the situation that we barely have enough time to accomplish what we need to.
I would like to refer to a similar situation in sports, one spends months, maybe years preparing for a 1-hour sports game. Or maybe preparing for an exam at school, you will spend hours and hours preparing for a 30-minute test.
There are many other every day metaphors I can use to explain this situation, but the main Idea is the fact that preparation is a very important factor in the process of accomplish a task, it is almost like the base foundations of a house, if it is the foundations placed FIRST are strong then building the actual house be a lot simpler. If the axe is sharpened FIRST then the next process of cutting the tree will be a lot simpler due to the prior preparation.
