It is undeniable that humans have changed the environment around them as they progressed through technological advancements, and have even changed Earth itself. As humans have made advancements in transportation, construction, energy and power, communication, manufacturing, etc, humanity has had to find more ways of obtaining Earth’s natural resources, such as fossil fuels to power their expedition into the unknown. Numerous actions that humans have taken such as fossil fuels, pollution, deforestation, and many more have all negatively affected Earth.

One of the most harmful activities that humans have participated in is pollution. Whether it be air pollution, water pollution, or land pollution, humans have harmed the earth by polluting the environments around them. By destroying the environments around them, humans have harmed and killed the animals and plants that live on Earth with them, and have even harmed themselves as a result of pollution. Through economic and technological developments throughout history, humans have created air pollution such as smog, acid precipitation, and ozone depletion. The same can be said for water and land pollution, with factors such as oil spills, beach pollution, and littering being the main causes of those types of pollution. The pollution caused by humans have not only destroyed environments and habitats but have killed numerous humans as well, as reported in document 4: “Annu Nagar is one of 22 communities [in India] where the groundwater has been known for nearly 20 years to contain toxic levels of chlorinated solvents. Six years ago, responding to relentless efforts from activists, the Indian Supreme Court ordered the city to install pipes that bring in clean water from the Narmada River. But the pipes coming into some houses run right through sewers, and on rainy days, filth and feces mingle with the clean water. In the meantime, each monsoon may be carrying this toxic plume farther. The most recent survey suggests there are 20 more communities where the water is contaminated. In March of this year, the Supreme Court ordered that the city ensure clean water to these areas, too—and that it undertake a project to lay down sewage and drainage networks for the entire city.” This document gives an example of how water pollution has caused humans living in Annu Nagar to drink polluted water.

Humans must strive to make advancements towards cleaner energy because the current situation on Earth is slowly killing the planet and its inhabitants. As humans have made advancements in transportation, construction, energy and power, communication, manufacturing, etc, humanity has had to find more ways of obtaining Earth’s natural resources, such as fossil fuels to power their expedition into the unknown. Whether it be air pollution, water pollution, or land pollution, we are killing plants, animals, and humans that live on Earth.

B.They all decreased voter discrimination based on gender. C.They all required that states must protect rights of all citizens regardless of race. D.They all required that states must protect rights of all citizens regardless of gender.

Presidents have two large responsibilities that rest almost entirely with them. Selecting Supreme Court justices and handling foreign affairs. I think a good place to start it so determine how each candidate would act in these two spheres.

First of all, you are correct. Only 4 presidents have gotten 60% or more of the vote: Johnson over Goldwater, Roosevelt over Landon, Nixon over McGovern and Harding over Cox. A few more came close. (George Washington ran unopposed, so, he got all the votes, but that doesn’t seem to count for this). Most races have been close; indeed, 18 presidents got elected with less than 50% of the vote. Considering that statistics on popular vote don’t exist for the first 9 elections, that’s remarkable (Source: List of United States presidential elections by popular vote margin)

Answer all parts of the question that follows.

a) Identify ONE way in which the development of new technologies in the twentieth century changed the global economy.

b) Explain ONE similarity in how the development of new medical innovations and agricultural technologies in the twentieth century affected the environment.

c) Explain ONE major change in global culture in the late twentieth century.

1. It is true that The Family Medical Leave Act gives employees the right to take time off to care for sick family members.

2.  Someone who believes the Fed should be abolished might argue that it supports a currency monopoly and benefits the wealthy over others. Correct option is b.

3. It is true that Certain people who serve in the military have a right to reemployment with their employers after their service ends.

4. It is false that Some states do not have state minimum wage laws.

5. It is false that The number of students with credit cards and credit card debt has decreased steadily since 1999.

6. It is true that On average, Black and Hispanic families have lower incomes than White and Asian families.

1. The Family Medical Leave Act does provide eligible employees with the right to take unpaid leave to care for sick family members. The Family Medical Leave Act is a federal law in the United States that grants certain employees the ability to take up to 12 weeks of job-protected leave in a 12-month period for specific reasons, including caring for a spouse, child, or parent with a serious health condition. The act aims to balance the demands of work and family responsibilities and provide support to employees during critical times of illness or caregiving.

2. Those who advocate for the abolition of the Federal Reserve (Fed) often argue that it enables a currency monopoly and benefits the wealthy at the expense of others. They may contend that the centralized control of the monetary system by the Fed allows for manipulation and favoritism towards certain financial institutions or individuals, resulting in wealth concentration and inequality. They might argue for the need to decentralize or eliminate the Fed's authority to address these concerns and promote a more equitable economic system.

While options A, C, and D highlight some of the roles and functions of the Fed, a critic advocating for its abolition would likely challenge its currency monopoly and argue that it disproportionately benefits the wealthy.

3. Certain individuals who serve in the military are protected by the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA), which grants them the right to reemployment with their employers after their military service ends. USERRA provides job protection and reemployment rights to individuals who serve in the uniformed services, including the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, National Guard, and Reserve components.

4. Every state in the United States has a minimum wage law. While the federal government establishes a minimum wage that applies nationwide, individual states also have the authority to set their own minimum wage, as long as it is at least as high as the federal minimum wage.

5. The number of students with credit cards and credit card debt has not consistently decreased since 1999. While specific data on the number of students with credit cards and credit card debt may vary over time and depend on various factors, there is no universal trend indicating a steady decrease since 1999.

6. On average, Black and Hispanic families in the United States have lower incomes compared to White and Asian families. This is a well-documented and persistent disparity in income levels based on racial and ethnic backgrounds. Numerous studies and data sources, including official government statistics, have consistently shown this income gap.
