Answers

The option A is true, that is the Fall of the Berlin Wall and the free crossing of East Germans into West Germany, as it was the clue that the Cold War might soon end.

What factors led to the fall of the Berlin Wall?

The Berlin Wall stood until November 9, 1989, when the head of the East German Communist Party announced that citizens of the GDR could cross the border whenever they pleased.

The wall came down partly because of a bureaucratic accident, but it fell amid a wave of revolutions that left the Soviet-led communist bloc teetering on the brink of collapse and helped define a new world order.

It was brought about by political reforms inside the Soviet bloc, escalating pressure from the people of Eastern Europe and, ultimately, confusion over an East German directive to open the border.

Which two factors contributed to the fall of the Western Roman Empire?
shift of the capital to Byzantium
dictatorship of the Roman emperors
invasion by Germanic tribes
inefficiency of the Roman soldiers
Odoacer’s aristocracy

Answers

Invasion by Germanic tribes.

Shift of the capital to Byzantium.

Technically, there are 3 given reasons for the fall of the Western Roman Empire, though these two would mostly be the more prominent reasons.

Firstly, Inefficiency of the Roman soldiers. This is, in no part, the fault of individual Roman soldiers, however, the Roman army had become extremely bloated with mercenaries who had very little loyalty to Rome herself, and rather joined to ensure the safety of their own people. Wavering loyalty, combined with failures of war leaders in both the thearatical as well as political landscape. It is also worth noting that the Roman government was running out of money, and combined with high taxes, they simply did not have any way of raising more funds.

Secondly, the Invasion by Germanic tribes. The Germanic tribes invaded the Roman Empire even with dealings, first simply to gain access to more fertile lands for farming, raising herds, and places to live, as well as security from the Huns, who were invading Germanic native lands. While Rome tried to allow their ally Germanic tribes to enter for protection, they were not able to successfully control the flow of traffic, and it led to large amounts of Germanic tribes. Tribal hostilities between the groups flared up once again, and Rome was simply caught in the middle of it.

Thirdly, the shift of the capitol to Byzantium. Constantine I shifted the capitol of the Roman Empire from Rome to Byzantium, which was promptly renamed Constantinople, after Constantine. This was due to Constantine believing that the Empire was too large, and left the western half under Rome's leader Romulus Augustus. However, by then Rome had very little importance. Combined with negligence, unstable government, and invasions, the Western Roman Empire fell. The Eastern Roman Empire continued to thrive until it's eventually downfall 977 years later in 1453.
