Alexander had wanted to experiment "harmonic telegraph — a device that allowed multiple messages to be transmitted over a wire at the same time." But finally on March 7, 1876 his invention had been official registered. But it wasn't until 3 days later, Alexander had made the first ever telephone call, "Mr. Watson, come here. I want to see you." It wasn't until then, the telephone was considered a successful invention.
