What causes loneliness to today's teens? essay PLEASEE

Answers

Answer 1

Lack of affection, lack of communication, misunderstanding, need to be heard and dissatisfaction. These feelings accompany those who feel alone when accompanied. Emotional loneliness is worse than physical loneliness.

Answer 2

Answer:

So, what causes loneliness? In medical and psychological literature, there are three causes of loneliness in all age groups.

First is the loss of a loved one or someone to which one has a strong attachment – a death, or breakup in a relationship, loss of a job, leaving a community such as high school, college, a job or the military.

Another cause is the feeling of being excluded from others, such as peers, family or a community. This carries with it feelings of low self-esteem, devaluation or a sense of absence of acceptance.

And the third is super important. Loneliness does not necessarily mean being alone. It’s the feeling of aloneness even in the presence of others. Loneliness is a perceived, individual experience. There’s a sense of detachment, alienation, and isolation.

Teens and young adults may be more vulnerable because of typical developmental – they are in the process of forming a sense of identity, and seeking who they are and where they belong in the world. This is usually a stressful and confusing period in life, often filled with drama and loss or changes in relationships.

Young people also haven’t developed the coping skills of adults to deal with challenging situations like tolerating the feelings of isolation. Their brains haven’t developed fully enough to dampen the power of their emotions – they can’t yet use their higher, rational abilities, to regulate their feeling, reactions, and impulses. These processes may make FOMO more intense.

On the other hand, the BBC found that among lonely teens, empathy actually increased. So, for all the challenges it presents, the experience of loneliness may foster a greater ability to put oneself in another person’s shoes.

Why does the speaker use the word recompense in line 8? 7 My love is such that rivers cannot quench, 8 Nor ought but love from thee give recompense. 9 Thy love is such I can no way repay; A.To affirm how thankful she is for her husband's love B.To highlight another way her husband can demonstrate his love C.To emphasize that the only reward she wants is her husband's love D.To stress that her husband should repay her for the love she shows him

Answers

Answer:

D. To stress that her husband should repay her for the love she shows him.

Explanation:

In the English language, the word recompense could refer to payment or reward expected for something.

In line 8, the speaker's emphatic use of this expression immediately after saying,

"My love is such that Rivers cannot quench,"

shows that the speaker expresses a strong love for her husband, and thus expects the same (repayment) in return.

Answer:

to emphasize that the only reward she wants is her husband's love

There is Missouri at this moment, with Illinois on the east and Nebraska on the west, all covering nearly the same spaces of latitude, and resembling each other in soil, climate, and productions. Mark now the contrast! By the potent efficacy of the ordinance of the Northwestern Territory, Illinois is now a free State, while Missouri has 87,422 slaves; and the simple question which challenges an answer is, whether Nebraska shall be preserved in the condition of Illinois, or surrendered to that of Missouri? Surely this cannot be treated lightly. But for myself, I am unwilling to measure the exigency of the prohibition by the number of persons, whether many or few, whom it may protect. Human rights, whether in a vast multitude or a solitary individual, are entitled to an equal and unhesitating support.

Sir, the proposition before you involves not merely the repeal of an existing law, but the infraction of solemn obligations originally proposed and assumed by the South, after a protracted and embittered contest, as a covenant of peace—with regard to certain specified territory therein described, namely: "All that territory ceded by France to the United States, under the name of Louisiana;" according to which, in consideration of the admission into the Union of Missouri as a slave State, slavery was forever prohibited in all the remaining part of this territory which lies north of 36° 30'. . . . In its stipulations for slavery, it was justly repugnant to the conscience of the North, and ought never to have been made; but it has on that side been performed. And now the unperformed outstanding obligations to freedom, originally proposed and assumed by the South, are resisted.

Write a short note on Indian Melas

Answers

Answer:

                                                     Indian Melas

Mela (Sanskrit: मेला) is a Sanskrit word meaning "gathering" or "to meet" or a "fair". It is used in the Indian subcontinent for all sizes of gatherings and can be religious, commercial, cultural or sport-related. In rural traditions melas or village fairs were (and in some cases still are) of great importance. This led to their export around the world by South Asian diaspora communities wishing to bring something of that tradition to their new countries.

In recent times "mela" also popularly refers to shows and exhibitions. It can be theme-based, promoting a particular culture, art or skill. Generally at "melas" people can find eateries, entertainment activities, shops and games.

The Kumbh Mela, held every twelve years, at Prayagraj, Haridwar, Nashik and Ujjain is one of the largest fairs in India, where over 60 million people gathered in January 2001, making it the largest gathering anywhere in the world

A new principal has just been posted to your school.Write a speech you will deliver at the welcome party organised for him informing him about some problems faced by student

Answers

Answer:

Dear Ms. Jackson, welcome to our school. We hope that you can make our school one of the best in the district. For that, some problems need your attention.

During the last few months, the students in the chemistry lab could not work properly due to a lack of materials. Many experiments have to be canceled, which led to poor comprehension of topics and an increase in failed tests.

Another big problem that students have been facing is the lack of a counselor who can help with personal problems, problems between classmates, and guidance for our future. The lack of a professional that deals with these kinds of situations is crucial for the well-being of our school and to help students have good marks.

We trust your knowledge and experience to take action on these problems and make our school the best that any student could ever have attended.

Explanation:

In the first part of the speech, we address the principal welcoming him or her. Also, we introduce the main topic of our speech, the problems faced by students.

In the next section, we explain the problems and the consequences that the problems bring. The intention is to persuade the principal to take action on the matter.

Finally, we close our speech with words of encouragement that invite the new principal to help the school.

Only the industrious prosper in life - change this sentence into negative

Answers

Answer:

There are two ways which we can use to change the sentence from affirmative to negative:

1. Not only the industrious prosper in life.

2. Only the industrious do not prosper in life.

Explanation:

1. If we choose to make the negative this way, the meaning we will convey is that industrious people prosper, but they are not the only ones. Other people can prosper too.

2. On the other hand, if we negate this way, we will completely deny the original affirmation. We will be saying that everyone else prospers in life excerpt for industrious people.

Both ways are grammatically correct, even though they convey different meanings.

the cat eat the mouse

I went to the fan sign event

Answers

Answer:

1. The mouse was eaten by the cat.

2. The walk was done by my dog and I.

3. The fan sign event was attended by me.

Explanation:

The passive voice is a way of rendering a sentence such that the action is performed on the subject. It is the opposite of the active voice were the subject performs the action. In each of the sentences above, the action is done by the subject. To change the first sentence to a passive voice, the action which is, 'to eat', was made to act on the subject. Thus, we have, the resulting sentence; "The mouse was eaten by the cat."

The second sentence seems a bit confusing but following the logic of the action acting on the subject, we render the sentence such that the walk is done by the dog and the person in question. The same logic was applied to the last sentence.
