A group of scientists wanted to investigate how populations of organisms can change over time. They decided to study a population of birds on the Galapagos Islands exposed to extreme conditions of drought.

Which of the following would be the best hypothesis to test how the birds might adapt to these conditions over time?
A.Birds exposed to extreme drought will become less attractive over time.
B.Extreme drought conditions could cause bird species to become extinct.
C.If birds are exposed to extreme drought then their beak size will quickly change overnight.
D.Birds might breed with other species and adapt to these conditions.

Answers

Answer:

I Dont think it would be D. Breeding with other species is possible, but extremely rare. I Think its most likely C, because C shows an adaptation, their beak changing in size. They might be changing so that their beaks are strong enough to break through plants or ground and drink the water from it. There might also be other reasons, that is just my prediction. If it gets too harsh, however, there might not be a way to adapt to it and they may go extinct. But as i said i think it would be C.

I think the answer is either d or b. D because the birds would have to learn to adapt to it making their offspring have features that help them survive. And b because if they do t find out how to survive they will die and eventually become extinct. Making my final answer be b and/or d.

They sought to achieve the ideal or most perfect form in their works, whether it be a sculpture of the idealized human form or an epic poem about an ideal hero. The pursuit of the ideal can be seen through the famous sculpture, the Winged Victory of Samothrace, which shows the goddess of Victory braced against a strong wind as she stands on a ship. Poets and artists communicated these values in both form and content. For example, epic poems and tragedies may have episodes of passion and action, but these dramatic moments are always balanced out by a clear theme about the importance of rational behavior and moral actions. In their lectures, philosophers argued about how to attain these ideals in an imperfect world.
