After setting his alarm clock for PM instead of AM, Eric woke up late for school. In his haste, he forgot to pack a lunch or bring lunch money. Eric did not mind much at first because he figured that he could eat some of his friends' food. During lunchtime, Eric explained his situation to the people at his lunch table. His friends were sympathetic to his cause. But they had only packed lunches for themselves, not Eric. Katie offered Eric a small bag of carrots. "Yuck! I hate carrots. Thanks anyway," Eric said as he declined Katie's offer. Chuck offered Eric his milk, to which Eric responded, "Is that skim milk? Ewww... I hate skim milk. Does anyone have any chocolate milk?" Some people at the table did have chocolate milk, but they did not want to give their milk to Eric. To break the silence, Ben offered Eric half of his egg salad sandwich. Again Eric refused quite rudely, "Egg salad is gross. Doesn't anyone have anything good for me?" But that was the last offer that Eric would receive that day.

In at least 150 words, describe why Tom in Uncle Tom’s Cabin is considered a “Christ” character and what parallels can be drawn between the lives of Tom and Jesus Christ.
In Uncle Tom's Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe there are two major Christ figures. Those two figures are Tom and Eva. They are Christ figures for many reasons, but mainly for their deaths which mirror Jesus' sacrificial death. I have read both Tom's and Eva's death scenes multiple times and I have also read Jesus' crucifixion in the Bible. Now I want to compare and contrast the scenes to try to understand what Stowe's goal for these characters was when she wrote the novel. Not only are their death scenes to be looked at but also their actions, because those are also similar to Christ, hence the term "Christ figure".
Christ's death scene is pretty straightforward if you are a Christian. I say this because most Christians have been hearing the story of Jesus' death since they were very young and in some sort of Sunday school or in church. Essentially, Jesus was crucified because he claimed to be the son of God and he also claimed to be a messiah. That is not why Tom and Eva died. The main thread that linked the deaths among the three is the thought that these deaths are sacrificial and in essence for the salvation of others. I see Jesus' and Tom's death as running much more in the same vein than Eva's death because she is dying anyway and therefore she is not really saving anyone, in my opinion, if she dies. On the other hand, neither Jesus nor Tom is sick and if they really don't want to die they could just not sacrifice themselves for others. Jesus helps others because he believes he is dying for "our" sins and Tom helps others in his death in the way that it leads to Emmeline and Cassy's escape and also the freeing of all of the slaves on Shelby Farm in Kentucky. Only in the small sense that Eva's death leads to St. Clare's conversion to Christianity and Ophelia's recognition and denunciation of her racial prejudice do I think that she is similar to Christ, but not in the superior way that Tom is to Christ. Tom is because he physically suffers and is beaten for his beliefs just like Jesus.
When I think about these two people (Eva and Tom) as modern day martyrs in a sense I see Eva as the rich women who donates a lot of her money to the poor but Tom as the man who actually gets involved with the poor; both are doing good things, but in a different way. Tom is more connected to the situation in the sense that he is in the fields trying to teach the others to work together, while Eva seems to do smaller deeds such as persuading her father to buy Tom or being kind to Topsy when no one else ever is. My impression is that Jesus is found within both Tom and Eva, but Tom's acts are more physical and Eva's are more mental. We also must remember she is a young girl and it is unrealistic to expect her to do too much that Jesus or Tom do.
As a holy character Eva seems to have a hard time pulling off a believable act. As an innocent child trying to show her family how she sees the horribleness of slavery, I can believe her, but when she moves into the mini-Jesus sermonizing to the slaves before her death I start to lose the sense that Stowe kept a grip on reality when writing this book. It is a nice parallel between Eva preaching to the slaves before death and Jesus preaching to the disciples before crucifixion, but who in their right mind thinks this young innocent girl can mature this quickly just because she is dying? Children are mature, but not that mature, at that age she would most likely be scared and crying (like most adults do when they are about to die). It is so unrealistic to think that a young child can face death bravely, much less an adult, when we know in reality very few people can do such a thing. Eva's character is a very powerful one because she is young, innocent, good, and had a somewhat Jesus-like sacrificial death.
Answer:
Eva and Uncle Tom, two characters found in the novel by the title "Uncle Tom's Cabin," written by Harriet Beecher Stowe, are effectively established as "Christ" figures within the story. Now, this is for many reasons, but primarily, the way in which they both die is most closely related to the Bible and how Jesus died in that book. It is important to understand how Stowe wrote both of these characters to be similar to Christ; when they died, both Uncle Tom and Eva had sacrificed themselves in order to bring salvation to the others around them. In this way, these two characters are very clearly comparable to the death of Jesus in the Bible--his death was also sacrificial to save the people and forgive them of their sins. Tom, however, is much more akin to Jesus or a "Christ figure" in Uncle Tom's Cabin than Eva is because he had lived the life of a poor, common man, able to understand the hardships of others more easily than Eva, with her wealth, ever could.

It was 17th December and one day later there was my Mother's birthday. Me and my younger sister planned a birthday surprise and called all our cousins and aunts for a surprise visit on her birthday at midnight. My mom was busy with her house chores and she cleaned kitchen and went to the bedroom for a sleep. All our Aunts and cousins arrived at our house. We closed all the lights and pretended as if we are also sleeping. When it was exactly 12.00 at midnight we all started singing loudly Happy Birthday. My mom was surprised and she suddenly came out down stairs and she was surprised to see her sister and mother here. She did not met them for a long time and she was happy with tears. We placed a picture cake in front of her and she was surprised to see her most beautiful picture on the cake. She loved the surprise and loved both of us and was thankful for surprise birthday plan. We all cut cake together and enjoyed the party.
It was no great distance, in those days, from the prison-door to the market-place. Measured by the prisoner's experience, however, it might be reckoned a journey of some length; for, haughty as her demeanour was, she perchance underwent an agony from every footstep of those that thronged to see her, as if her heart had been flung into the street for them all to spurn and trample upon. What is the meaning of this excerpt
Answer:
It means that the walk from the prison-door to the marketplace seems trecherous and long to Hester Prynne.
Explanation:
Nathanael Hawthorne's "The Scarlet Letter" is about the story of Hester Prynne, a woman convicted of adultery, and the "punishment" that was given to her. The novel also deals with themes of society, religion, good vs. evil, public shaming, social stigma, etc.
In the given excerpt, the narrator is talking about the "walk" from the prison door to the marketplace where Hester will be 'on display' for the public to see. The narrator reveals, "measured by the prisoner's experience, [the walk] might be reckoned a journey of some length" which is how it was more of "an agony from every footstep" for Hester. These lines show how Hester thinks the walk is long and treacherous for her.

The correct response is - from a smile as big as the moon sounds like a nice story answer is 4
What is a Space? The area outside of a planet's atmosphere is known as outer space. It starts for Earth at a height of roughly 100 km (62 miles). The Kármán line is the boundary between our atmosphere and outer space. The terms outer space and universe are similar, however outer space only refers to the region between planets, whereas the universe also includes planets.
The age of the universe is roughly 13.8 billion years. It was created during the time of the Big Bang. Telescopes can only observe objects up to 13.8 billion light-years away due to the speed of light. The cosmos is still growing. Whether the universe is infinite or finite in size is a topic of discussion among scientists. What is beyond the visible horizon is unknown.
In space, not much matter exists. Without any air, it is a challenging vacuum. Additionally, this makes it quite frigid. Radiation and errant particles do exist, though. Ironically, even though space is cold, getting rid of waste heat from spacecraft requires specialized infrared radiators because there aren't any particles for the heat to interact with.

Why does white privilege exist?
Answer:
White privilege, or white skin privilege, is the societal privilege that benefits white people over non-white people in some societies, particularly if they are otherwise under the same social, political, or economic circumstances.[1][2] With roots in European colonialism and imperialism,[3] and the Atlantic slave trade, white privilege has developed[4] in circumstances that have broadly sought to protect white racial privileges,[5] various national citizenships, and other rights or special benefits.[6][7]
In the study of white privilege and its broader field of whiteness studies, both pioneered in the United States, academic perspectives such as critical race theory use the concept to analyze how racism and racialized societies affect the lives of white or white-skinned people.[8][9] For example, American academic Peggy McIntosh described the advantages that whites in Western societies enjoy and non-whites do not experience as "an invisible package of unearned assets".[10] White privilege denotes both obvious and less obvious passive advantages that white people may not recognize they have, which distinguishes it from overt bias or prejudice. These include cultural affirmations of one's own worth; presumed greater social status; and freedom to move, buy, work, play, and speak freely. The effects can be seen in professional, educational, and

Answer:
In this text, the word "road" refers to "decisions" that the speaker made.
Explanation:
The text shown in the above question is taken from the poem "The Road Not Taken" written by Robert Frost. In this text, the speaker demonstrates that he came across two roads inside the forest he was traversing. Although the word "road" means "path," in this poem, that word refers to the decisions the speaker had to make during his lifetime. like a deep-sea-going ship or vessel
like an olive tree, just felled and still green

like the mast of an enormously large ship
Answer:
The lines from the epic 'And it was like a mast /a lugger of twenty oars, broad in the beam— /a deep-sea-going craft—might carry: /so long, so big around, it seemed. ' suggests that the size of the beam is enormous as that of a ship. Thus the correct option is D
Explanation:
Based on the epic simile, the reader should picture the beam of wood Odysseus found in the cave "like the mast of an enormously large ship," this is the last option, as the simile is comparing the size and shape of the beam of wood to the mast of a ship.
