explain the peace of augsburg, the edict of nantes, and the peace of westphalia, and how they helped create religious tolerance in the world.

Answers

The Peace of Augsburg was a pact signed in September 1555 at the Rimersburg by Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor, and the Schmalkalden League.

The Peace of Westphalia refers to two peace accords signed in the Westphalian cities of Osnabrück and Münster in October 1648. The Edict of Nantes, signed by King Henry IV in April 1598, guaranteed the Calvinist Protestants of France extensive rights in the nation, which was almost fully Catholic. The Peace of Augsburg allowed for the free emigration of dissident citizens and gave the rulers the option of choosing either Lutheranism or Catholicism as the religion of their realm. Because it was established that the various states of the Holy Roman Empire might either be Lutheran or Catholic, the Peace of Augsburg promoted religious tolerance. Whatever religion the ruler practiced became the recognized religion in that state. The Treaty of Westphalia guaranteed the right to exercise one's religion in one's house, go to religious services, and raise one's children in accordance with that religion. This right also applied to Protestants and Catholics living in Protestant and Catholic regions.

Thus this is the meaning of Peace of Augsburg, Peace of Westphalia and the Edict of Nantes.

In the unit review, you wrote a statement in which you explained whether you considered government under the Roman republic or government under the Roman empire to be more successful, and why. Elaborate on that statement by writing an essay in which you evaluate the successes of the Roman republic and the Roman empire. Provide at least two ways in which you consider each type of government to have been successful and two ways in which you consider each to have been unsuccessful. In your conclusion, propose one change for both the republic and empire, which would have fixed the problems of Roman society. Be sure to use examples from what you learned to justify your response.

Answers

Answer:

The Roman Empire was more successful than the Roman Republic because the empire lasted for the long period of time.

What was the Roman Empire?

Roman Empire was the one of the longest empire of the world which founded by Augustus Caesar in the period of 31BC and was eventually collapsed in 1453CE with the falling of Constantinople.

Both the Roman Empire and the Roman Republic had times of turmoil, which aided in their demise. They all lasted the same amount of time. It will be difficult to determine one is more successful than the other.

It can be inferred that the Imperial was more successful than the Republic if we examine the breadth of the Roman Empire and how it persisted from Byzantium after the Western Empire fell.

After capturing control of the Italian peninsula, which swiftly spread across the Mediterranean, the Roman Republic fought the Phoenicians.

Therefore, it can be concluded that Because the Roman Empire existed for a long time, it was more successful than the Roman Republic.

How did Indian Ocean Trade help spread technology?

Answers

"How did the Indian Ocean Trade help spread technology? Did it really does?" It did. This is how everything started and ended:

From the 7th century onwards, ships sailed from China and Vietnam to India and Sri Lanka along the maritime Silk Roads, using magnetic needles and star compasses. Arab and Persian merchants sailing in the Indian Ocean elaborated a universal navigational system, and they invented several nautical instruments.

Improvements of maritime technologies like lateen sails (the first triangle-shaped sails, allowing ships to be far more maneuverable), dhow ships and the astrolabe (an instrument that vastly increased accurate navigation by measuring the stars), and helped sailors navigate safely.

Trade Across the Indian Ocean Led to New Interactions Between Distant Civilizations. As the Indian Ocean trade network grew, societies thousands of miles apart began interacting directly. These interactions led to the increased spread of cultures into new areas.

With a focus on Europe first and the Lend-Lease program, Roosevelt oversaw the mobilization of the American economy to aid in the war effort. He also prioritized the defeat of Germany over that of Japan.

How do Presidents Lincoln and Roosevelt approach the idea of war?

Lincoln and Washington were both chosen to hold the office of president for two terms. Both males were active duty soldiers.Their vice presidents succeeded both Lincoln and Washington as president. Both presidents had to deal with uprisings while in office. Abraham Lincoln was a politician and a figure that Theodore Roosevelt admired.Roosevelt built a powerful wartime coalition with Britain and the Soviet Union, and led the nation to victory against Nazi Germany. His wartime efforts prepared the path for his successor, Harry Truman, to win the war against Japan four months after his death.

Roosevelt believed that Lend-Lease served the interests of the United States by assisting in the defeat of Nazi Germany without directly entering the conflict—at least not until the country was ready for it, both militarily and in terms of public opinion. Roosevelt was not primarily motivated by altruism or generosity when he enacted Lend-Lease. In spite of the country's formal declaration of neutrality on September 5, 1940, FDR started preparing for military action by declaring a national emergency, expanding the Army and National Guard, and approving the first peacetime draft law, the Selective Training and Service Act of 1940. Like Lincoln in 1861, Roosevelt in 1941 acted in accordance with what seemed to be a popular demand and a public necessity. Both presidents made their decisions in the open and amid unrestrained political discourse. They took the actions they believed were necessary to preserve the republic. In the end, they bet their lives on the country's justice and the morality of their actions.Whatever Roosevelt and Lincoln felt driven to do in the face of a crisis did not compromise their fundamental adherence to democratic and constitutional principles.

Who were loyalists?

During the American Revolutionary War, the British Crown's supporters in America were known as Loyalists, sometimes known as Tories, Royalists, or King's Men. The Patriots, who backed the revolution, condemned them and referred to them as "persons antagonistic to the rights of America."

The British administration was constantly reassured by prominent Loyalists that thousands of them would take up arms and defend the monarchy. This was anticipated by the British government, notably during the southern wars of 1780–1781. The mexican-american war was from April 25, 1845, to February 2, 1848, not many people know about this war because the USA doesn't like to talk about it. This was a really tragic war for Mexico because they lost half their land which is now ours.

Before the mexican-american war, Mexico used to own texas the USA had brought 300 families to texas to harvest the land, Mexico later banned slavery which was a huge income for America and that meant that they couldn't have slaves in texas so they started to rebel, and later with the help of the USA as an independent country, but later joined the USA after many years of trails waiting to become a state of the united states of America.

After Texas left Mexico, America had a desire to expand from sea to sea, so America wanted to buy Mexican land for 30 million dollars but Mexico refused because they were not selling their land. And so America was going to get that land one way or another so they lined their troops along el Rio grande and Mexico still thought they owned that land, Mexico attacked first in desperation to protect their country.

Later into the war, Mexico was losing because the USA had tried new cannon technology by adding a cannon to a horse and that made them move faster, they could get cannon to areas faster than Mexico. Also, Mexico was going through a rebellion because they had no public education and the Mexican people thought that was important.

Mexico did end up losing the war and ended giving most of their land to the usa and america did end up giving 15 million of dollars to mexico, later the american people started moving west, which really helped the usa flourish and be one of the greatest nations.

After all this war president pope was not justified because he went to war because he felt like the west was meant for the people of the usa and we did flush but at what cost mexico suffering because of us.

Why did the Spanish colonize America?

There were several reasons given for the colonization of the Americas by the Spanish but the main one would be to take advantage of the vast riches of the Americas.

We see this with the Spanish pillaging the gold of the Aztec and the Inca and then taking them back to Spain which made the Kingdom very wealthy. There was also the mining of silver from the mines in Bolivia.

Another reason for the colonization of the Americas by the Spanish was to convert the Natives to Christianity. While this was a minor reason, it was significant nonetheless.

This was because the Spanish were devout Catholics and wanted to spread the Institution of Catholicism across the world. They therefore established Missions as shown in the image, to spread Christianity.
